Anyone going to MACNA this year?

I like corn! And I also like Bill’s response….it’s right-on….+1 I also wish the Iowa club the best of luck in hitting their numbers….I know we were right on the cusp in AC when we sponsored. Hopefully they don’t have some of the expenses we had.

    Borneman's Recipe...anyone use??

Steve, I was not aware of Borneman’s recipe. However, I’ve used lye (sodium hydroxide solution) to kill aptasia….the solution I make up to regenerate my DI resin. Lye is a strong caustic alkaline (base pH) chemical that is similar to other aptasia killers in that it will quickly “dissolve” the...

    DIY chiller

Paul, you will never cease to amaze me….this Rube Goldberg of yours reminds me of the game, Mouse Trap: I bet if you mounted a computer fan on the water ladder it would cool even more. Pretty neat!

    Dave’s 90g learning-curve glass room experiment

Dave, the above bolded symbol (>), is a GREATER THAN symbol. So if you want more phosphate, I’ll send you down some of my tank water. That should easily raise your phosphate above 0.03. ;D ;D ;D ::)

FREE – Tank Stand - Sayreville

Olivier, it will fit a 75 gallon tank, and you are the first to respond, so that makes this stand YOURS! If I were to keep this and use it, I would sand it and put on a fresh coat of polyurethane. As far as the structure, it was built with those large staples….I don’t like them. So I would also...

    Dave’s 90g learning-curve glass room experiment

Dave, glad to see your tale is back up! I like the “Reader’s Digest” version that quickly brings you up to speed on what’s gone on. I didn’t realize from your original tale that the room was entirely all glass. With all that natural light, I’m sure your CUC will be kept fat and happy. After some...

    Inherited 90

I’d say it’s closer to 25/75 percent clean to waste, respectively. For every 5 gallons of water I make, I have about 15 gallons of waste. Water Costs...you’ll have to check with your town. Don’t forget to add in sewage costs as well....which is based on water usage.

    Inherited 90

Alex, I would think this would work. The RO/DI is under house water pressure (typically 35-60lbs, but could be higher). In addition, we are only talking about a ¼ inch line. It should easily be able to push the water up five feet. As far as automating the removal of waste water from the...
