    DI Resin

If you have to cut corners and pinch every penny on something like this then you are in the wrong hobby. IMO

    DI Resin

I would rather pay $35 for the 5lbs than deal with the hassle and who knows what other consequences of recharging the resin. I think trying to save money on something that is filtering the water for my tank is not worth it and a little overboard. With all the money that is invested in our...

    Emerald Crabs and Starfish????

It could be your serpent starfish. If it is large enough it will feed on the legs of other starfish, usually sand sifting stars. I had the same problem with the legs missing off my sand sifting stars and one night I caught the serpent star pulling the SS into the rock work and feeding on it.

Any Red Sea Coral Pro Users Out There??

Hey Bill, I used it for about 6 months and liked it better than Reef crystals, never had a problem with it, no nitrate issues like RC. I am now using Garry's salt (gettanked) which IMO is the best salt I have used to date.

    Acans and dwarf angels...

I have a flame angel and I regret having this fish more than any other. He is constantly nipping at my acans and SPS, never enough to do any damage, but enough for the polyps to stay in on my SPS, and for my acans to live but not really expand and thrive. I have tried to trap him but with no...

    Kalk reactor question

I have the PM kalk reactor from the group buy. I am getting a mass of white precipitate buildup where the water flows out of the return tube and into the sump. I takes several days for it to build up and I do have the tube suspended underwater which i think is the correct way to have it. Is...

    Beginners corals ???

The elegance coral should definitely be off that list. As it is true that ten yrs ago it did well in captivity there have been many collection and disease issues with this coral since. I would only reccommend it to the advanced aquarist that has a very established tank.

Ultraviolet Sterilizer on Home Reef Aquarium Poll.

What do you guys attribute these results to??? I would think the UV would make the water more clear, and glass less dirty. Now you guys have me wondering if I should turn my UV light off.

    phosphate reactor?

I just hooked up this one in the large 26" size and I love it. I loaded it up with carbon and GFO, and mixed the two medias together. Hooked up a MJ1200 and am running it on a 500 gal system...

    Low pH is killing me

Rich, I have had the same problem, what I have been doing and it has helped, is when I get up in the morning (6 AM) I turn of the AC and open up all the windows in the house. This airs out the whole house and gets rid of all the excess CO2 that has built up. Usually by 11:00 it starts to warm up...

    When will it end

One thing I did notice last week, was that my chiller when it turned on was actally heating my fish room so much that it was doing more good than bad. It was actually heating the room so much it was making the tank water warmer than it should have been and creating a chain reaction, even with...
