Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Please don’t repeat bad information. This is a huge deal. People are dying slow painful deaths alone in a hospital Bed. Don’t use trigger words like snowflake. This is not about being brave or strong this virus doesn’t give a ****.
If you are poor or rich it kills Old and young. (17 yr old boy...
Yeah I get it at hobby lobby and it’s like $8 a tube. One tube can do a 6ft tank. I used that paint to paint my frag tanks and I had to take it off and I was able just to scrape it right off.
yeah this tank is in the basement so I am the only one that’s going to see this tank. I can put some low light corals in the back of the tank and enjoy them from the other side.
Like a sun coral maybe ?
I use to paint the back of all my tanks but this time I think I will leave it see through. That way I can enjoy the tank from both sides. This will also help me clean the back glass. If I change my mind the paint I use is a water base vinyl paint that is safe so I can paint while the tank has water.
No it’s not a stupid question. When you power Goes out or you return pump dies. Water from your main tank will go down to your sump. It’s not a lot of water but it’s enough to spill. the 10 gallon the tank is not able to hold all that water.
you will also like to add a skimmer/heater/return pump...
yes my tank had two one in each corner.
you don’t need baffles right away.
I would keep it simple. Just run the hose from the tank to the sump.
You can add a sock holder as well
The sump in the beginning is just a place to put a heater and skimmer .
Prefilter sock holder mount with 1 free...
I keep it simple one drain and one return
I also agree a 10 gallon tank is too small for a 75 gallon. I would do a 40 breeder .
use the 20 long for a frag tank and the ten gallon for qt
if your tank is doing good I wouldn't touch it.
but the reason why you raise the intensity is to get a better spread. Look at the BRS video on the kessil. They test it in a 24 inch tank and they have their lights at 100%
I had them in my old tank 125 6’ x 18 x24 tall
I was getting 80-120 on the floor And around 200-240 in the middle. I ran all lights at 100% I would like more light.
So for this tank I think I will either get the new kessil AP9x
if your tank is happy you should keep it at that intensity. If you...
I got my seneye used from a member on the forum. I knew I was going to move and I had to setup a new tank at the new home.
being able to monitor ammonia without having to test every day is great.
it also does PH and temp so I haven’t needed to setup my apex yet.
it also works as a water level...
I have 3 kessil 360x from my last tank.
but those lights are not strong enough to penetrate a 30”deep tank. So they will move to the frag tank and I will looking into buying a new kessil AP9x and set that up in the middle with two 360x on the side.
I have a seneye as a par meter and that works...
I know I lot of people that have used bio-spira with good success. I think You can use your old rocks. Just clean them out and leave them in a brute can for a few months. BRS has a good video on how to do it.
When I first setup my 1st tank I used DR Tim’s bacteria. I also used all dead caribe sea rocks and I had a bunch of algae problems.
now I have live ocean rock mixed in with my caribe sea rock. In my opinion live ocean rock if you can get it is best thing for growing corals. From what I can see...
So today I added more bacteria.
I wanted to make sure you guys understand that I didn’t just put fish in a new tank.
I have been running two frag tanks for a few months now with some of my old rock from my last build.
I have been dosing Fritz bacteria to help with the cycle.
I decided to use...
