Is that rubbermaid raised off the ground? That should be something else you should consider, basement floors get cold, it would probably help your electricty bill a little! Depending on how much of a dip the drains have to take, it might not matter that much, a little U bend will probably help...

I think it all depends on how bad your water is going into it. The higher TDS the faster the filters will deplete, also putting a certain date range on filters is kind of silly, they don't know whether you're making 6 gallons a week or 600. I usually change my filters when they visually look...

I haven't used the cotton balls in a long time, I have better air flow without them. At one time I used a little piece of carbon filter pad in there...I thought it might help clean the air a little before it went into the skimmer... It's hard to tell from the size of that picture...I don't...

I take apart my beckett's about once a month for a total cleaning. I have to say, disassembling them and cleaning the becketts makes all the difference! I also squirt a little RO into air intake on the injectors at least once a week, this helps keep the air intakes from getting clogged.
