Using a Mag 24 as an external pump or advice for new one.

Do you already have the pump? or are you looking to buy one? The Mags throw off a lot of heat, and are a *bit* noisy. If you haven't bought a pump yet and want to go external, I would look into a Sequence Pump, they really are great!

I had fun too, even though I could only bob around on the surface...Don't know what was up with the buoyancy problems today! Too bad we couldn't get a bunch of those Windmill hot dogs for the meetings! Those things are crazy huge!

    Plumbing ?

There is a great thread by JohnS about basement sumps. The manifold is a wonderful idea, and may help with your pressure issues. HERE is the thread. You may want to check out this: Head Loss Calculator It's pretty straightforward to use. HTH!

    Plumbing ?

If it's possible, I would make those 1" lines drains and run another line up as the return. You want to keep that return as large as possible and then drop it down a step once you get to the tank. I think the Barracuda has 1.5" coming out of it, so if you could step that up to 2" right at the...

Bulkhead Sealing... To Silicone or Not to Silicone

I've done it both ways, although after I siliconed the first 2 bulkheads that I did, I read to NOT silicone them, so I stopped siliconing them. Both sets are working fine.

    Quick question

How many photos are you trying to add? I find that if I "bulk add" more than 5 some of them don't seem to upload properly. What size are the pics? There is a 300k limit. That could be causing problems also.

I think I passed the test today! I'm a reefer!

No, I sold all of my HO stuff when I moved out of my old house. I had a nice room setup with a rail yard a working roundhouse (well, working most of the time...lol), electronic switches and one of those little gandy dancers...a nice little lake with water flowing around it (I'm surprised i...

I didn't realize this was almost here already! I will call the dive shop on Monday and see if they have gear to rent. Like a dumb*** I forgot to log any of the dive info ::) I know I needed more weight because I didn't compensate for the thicker wetsuit....But I'll be damned if I remember what...
