It really sounds like something is restricting your flow. In my opinion, I think that could really be the only problem. Are you using a HOB, Internal or external overflow? If you have an internal with a Durso Standpipe maybe your air line at the top of the durso is clogged. HTH

Nah, those mini feather dusters are a good thing. Some fish and inverts usually pick them off though. They are just filter feeders.

I've kept a Niger in my older reef tanks. It was fine with shrimp, snails, leathers and shrooms. I would ASSUME that it would be ok in most reef tanks.

I'm not exterminator, but termites don't look like ants. I believe they are white. Now, Carpenter Ants on the other hand are the big black suckers.They look like ants. Check around your doors and sills in the basement and see if you have any "frasse" (sp?) it's like termite/carpenter ant poo...

The reef tank @ The Pratt Institute (Where Manhattan Reefs frag swap was held) has a Pink Tail in it. It's a really sweet fish... Very tempting!

Yes, My skimmer is plumbed into my sump.

I have one of my return lines going to the fuge (off of a manifold setup) and then the fuge drains right back into the sump. Nice and simple!
