Mine lasts much longer. I make about 100gal per resin or 2 months for water makeup with my system. Thus the cost vs convienince factor.

Sounds great on paper....2 kids under the age of 4, full time job, not worth the effort. Just buy lots of resin, the extra cost does not compare to time saved! My question is why is the color going back to the color of the new/ fresh as it sits in the bag?

Well I change it and throw the spent resin in a zip lock bag for the future day ( which will never happen)...

Edwin, happy to oblige but I will not be doing anything till I start to see corals showing encrusting of cuts and on plugs. I feel that with all they have been through another 2 weeks would be best. At that time I am happy to cut from what I have extra.

That could have been a lot worse!! Even if you have cuts or chapped hands while doing this stuff the toxin gets in. Be careful.
