All corals remaining look fine. Part of my problem may have been dipping them 2 days ago. I really think these guys may seem fine but are stressed and need time to acclimate. I plan on letting them sit for the next 3 weeks to adjust. Once I see either encrusting on plugs or over cuts, I will do...
Hey Austin,
It was a chunky frag not an actual colony. My thoughts are that these corals have been through a bit and at this point it may be best to let all sit as is for a few weeks to recoup and show signs of healing/ encrusting. If it is the piece, yeah at some point I would go for a...
Sorry long day. Rtn, rapid tissue necrosis. Happened in a 24 hour period. Alk is 7.2, low by where I keep my reef tank. Mg is 1320, calcium is 460. Phosphates are .04 ( I have macro growing and only 2 small clowns that get fed once daily). Could be stress the other colonies look fine. We will see.
Lost a colony today, dull brown with blue tips and the polyps have a glow to them, Think its sudden tissue necrosis ( stn). water parameters are ok temp was a tad high 78.The others seem ok with good polyp extension.
That is one sweet setup. I have the same lights....smaller. Only have em at 90% for a 3 hour stretch. Any higher and my ORA green birds nest gets pissed. Acros on the other hand would be fine at 100%.
Pics of corals in a few weeks is a great idea. That night was crazy and I could only account t for 17 of the 18 colonies. No big deal but if I could see what was missing and someone has the mother colony with a frag to spare, cool. All in all I am loving the whole experience. Next time with...
No it's the Friday beer in hand and my iPad needs the master button on the right or if I post the shot its upside down. Lol
Mike thanks for all the hard work, the eggs you have are good to keep w/out refrigeration for 1 week. Thanks again!!
Mine will be dipped tomorrow, I will observe for at least a month before thinking of my display. I want to see that they are not stressed, coloring up, encrusting etc.
Mike thanks so much for all you did! Sorry for the mess we left at the house. I am amazed at the amount of frags and size. The colors look great and these are huge pieces! Wow is all I can say. Thanks again Mike and John as well.
Sounds great John, unfortunately I am on for the kids that eve. I am off this weekend from work is a sat pick up or Sunday ok? I guess what I am figuring out is the course of events. 1) coral colonies come in and Mike picks them up at airport, returns home and with help gets them set up in a...
