The skimmer is said to be in at least 6-10" of water the baffle is probably about 6" high, which would lead me to believe the water level "should" stay at that level.
Hmm well that sucks. Maybe I'm better off buying a tank and just making my own sump.
I say this considering that to have my...
JerseyWendy you're right 100%, but the other aspect of that is my tank has been running 4 months now and I have yet to see this thing until a few weeks ago when I added a rock of zoas I bought.
I want to rescape my rock anyway and move some corals around so it would not be difficult in finding...
Ld I make one bucket of water 1.35 salinity and put each rock in there. Only thing is my corals are on my rocks, but I'm thinking of removing them. Putting them in a bucket with tank water and then removing each rock. I think I'd prefer to do that because then I can reroxk and reposition...
As long as my nail not as wide lol.
That Acclimate looks like it'd be good, but as it is a nocturnal animal how would I keep food from spoiling inside of it and also it looks HUGE. I only have a 14g biocube with a small amount of space that I could fit the trap.
first chamber before the skimmer. So the chamber where the water falls into I'd have sand and some LR or w.e and the sand would be kept in place by that first baffle before the skimmer.
Given that site ^ I'm 90% sure it is a crab in that case. The sea spiders pictured there are smaller than a finger nail. This thing's leg was teh size of my pinky nail.
Any ideas how to get it out?
So I placed the skimmer in the sump and got to thinking.
The first chamber pictured here I can have the water flow down in and then the one baffle separates it from the skimmer. Would I be able to use this small space as a refuge?
This is where the water would fall into:
This is where I am...
mfisher want to build me a sump :) lol
I picked up my skimmer today ASM G2 I never realized how massive skimmers really are.
Moving along and making progress, feeling pretty good about this whole thing so far.
Honestly not sure if I had to guess they looked almost like a spider or crabs would the way I saw them under the rock then sweep the sand, I stayed up last night for 2 hours starring at the tank and couldn't see it again.
I think I'm going to do what 9supra suggested, I need to rearrange my...
Let me know when you are free Steve I think I'm going to end up having to do that.
I'm off all day tomorrow except 3:30 - 5:30 going to go get my skimmer.
Might need you to bring some RO, but I'll compensate you for that.
Sooner is better than later:).
I just came home and the lights were off for 2 hours, could not see the damn thing at all.
I've had my tank running 4 months, never saw it til today then it had to poke a leg out POS.
Steve I think I might need you to come by and help me. I'm going to buy a fish trap tmrw and see if I can...
only saw it's legs for a few seconds so spearing is going to be kind of difficult. I'm thinking of draining some water and putting the rocks with coral in a bucket then emptying the tank til I find it and make hiker soup
