Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Pete, if you copy the picture location (http//blah, blah, blah), and paste it between:
You will get the full size picture. Note the second parenthesis has a backslash…/
It’s disgustingly easy. If you can use a measuring cup and pour water, you’re good to go.
I first started making Randy’s two part when I first entered the hobby. I ended up getting a good deal on two, five gallon buckets of B-Ionic, and switched to using that. I was keeping these two...
You might want to DIY your own two-part. All ingredients are commonly found.
ALK = Baking Soda
CALC = Dow Flake (hard to find) or Preston Driveway Heat (easy to find in the winter)
MAG = Mag Flakes and Epsom Salt
HERE’s a good read that tells you the specifics.
I like it!
Sunny you will never cease to amaze me……For the good of the club.
I hope this strawman you’ve put together is taken under consideration by the board. I’m not even sure if $$ is necessary…just having won this award, I think, is enough incentive.
Pete, nice progress from the nano to the big tank. You mentioned tank shots from four months ago….how does it look now?
I also amused myself when I saw this picture:
I was only reading up to the picture….and then looking at the picture…..and I’m thinking, “What did he have...
What I know about electronics would fit on the head of a pin, but I do believe that the two Meanwell drives that I’m aware of, their milliamp output is adjustable….so they would fit your requirements. This could be true with other brands, but again, I only know enough to be dangerous.
Dave, looks like it’s coming together nicely. Maybe I missed an earlier post, but why are the lights on hinges? It looks like the canopy is high enough to get in and out of the tank without having to move the lights out of the way.
I'm rimless as well. Just have to make sure you mount the GH Overflow down a touch from the top. I'm not home right now, but I can measure this when I get home and let you know how far down mine is.
Yeah….definitely keep the bit in water. In addition, it’s so much easier getting the bit to drill the exact spot if you use a guide. The Glass-Holes kit I purchased (1500 gph) had this guide….not only to guide the bit, but make sure the two holes were the right distance apart. If you don’t...
Kevin, I know it’s short notice, but I just received an email from Glass-Holes for their Ground Hog’s Day sale. From now until February 3, take 10% off your entire order. Apply coupon code 'BillMurray' at checkout.
Certainly people have had success with Tao Tronics fixtures (Chinese LEDs). My son had one over his 40B unit he recently broke it down. I currently have that fixture over a JBJ 28 until my new fixture arrives. As Nyte mentions above (and others), the lastest and greatest Chinese LEDs are...
Luke, my son (I mean Kevin), don’t be drawn into the dark side by these Bogan deceivers who think that that monstrous black box is the way to go. Believe in the Force……….Glass-Holes!
Knowing that the glass is not tempered, you’re 90% of the way there. Drilling is a breeze…..you keep the...
This isn’t coming from me, but from Der Wille Zur Macht over on RC who is an LED guru…
You (typically) CAN NOT dim or control a typical LED rig by adding a resistor or potentiometer (sliding or otherwise) to the DC output, i.e. in series with the LED string. 99% of commercially produced HP LED...
John, again, it’s been a few years, but I purchased it from Edison Millworks and Hardware (a True Value Hardware store) located at 9 Old Post Road, Edison, just off of Woodbridge Avenue…..(732) 985-2700. Check True Value stores in your area.
I’ve seen Prestone Driveway Heat in a number of...
I could not find DowFlake when I started using Randy’s two part a couple years ago. I ended up buying Preston Driveway Heat, and I’ve been using that since. It’s anhydrous, and therefore you only need two cups per gallon to make up the calc part. Randy does mention Driveway Heat as a...
