Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
I like the budget idea myself.
Then we can all get creative, choose our own tanks, lights, etc...
I've put in a request for a special forum.
Will keep everyone informed.
If we get it rules, dates, links, and discussions shall abound!
I do have a rock of GSP in there but it's not growing. Mind you its not dying, but it just isn't growing over the past 2 months.
Joe,
Used a dose of Chemipure a few weeks back. Water changes in this tank are scarce. Think the last one I did was 8 or 9 weeks ago and was only 2 gallons (its a 10g...
Update. Xenia still growing like mad...
And, more interesting.
This tank has been going for quite a while.
All zoas were removed many months back.
Today I found this guy.
I'm into the zoa thing, and I cant ID it.
Alternating green and blue skirt, black center with bright purple iris.
Looks...
I'm happy to go the 'everybody gets the same stuff' route if we like but I'm a bit fussy on the tank being 2g wide mouth and the light being full spectrum (plus I may have a usable light somewhere in storage already, and if do, I don't plan to buy another).
May be better if we set a maximum...
All part of the 'challenge'.
Seriously though, my tanks fluctuate between 76 and 82 and i have no probs. A tank that small will pick up ambient temps and do the same.
Not much info appearing Chris.
Looks like a long ramp with a lot of leds firing at once. I tend to keep blues and whites up, with UV and violet secondary, and other accent colors tertiary.
The lighting schedule I sent is working very well for me in a 13g tank.
Tank is 12" deep, light is 6" off...
Just grab a cheap desk lamp that will reach it's neck over the top of your container (or high in the back at an angle), then go to a shopping site, type in 'full spectrum led grow bulb', and you'll have a ton of choices between $20 - $30.
J,
You got me mega interested in something.
I'm cruising Amazon atm for the container I like.

'Drink Dispenser Pico' challenge?
as an idea for the club with full credit to you for inspiring the thought.
This was spawned from Jeremy's post...
The Pico reef.
This intrigues me, a lot.
Maybe we should start a club activity.
Have members go out and make picos under 3g.
Any coral style they like.
Thinking that some of these ‘drink dispensers’…
drink dispenser can be fitted with stainless or brass...
They look like common fire/bristleworms. Nighttime scavengers of detritus. If you brush up against the bristles it'll feel like your hand's been dumped in acid.
Bad rep as 'coral eaters' but those types of worms are very rare in the hobby, and they usually eat gorgonians.
Overall excellent...
Those small creatures are pods.
Algae bloom is expected and normal.
I have a batch of GSP in a mess about tank and its receding, in tanks I care about it grows like weeds. Its a hit or miss, don't judge anything by it.
Small anems are a potential BIG problem if they're aptasia (aka glass...
Yep, Aqua Oceans is great as well, bought 2 of my favorite fish there (a snowflake clown and a gladiator clown). Healthy fish at great prices.
BTW, you can always post a review, or look for info, here...
Retailer Experiences
Arr, them northerers is a odd bunch. Eye used to live thar meeself till I moved southerlee, now eye is OK.
So yeah, the shore air restored my sight.
But, two options in central/south are Tropaquarium for tanks (they sell them at cost) and supplies and Aquarium Care Center for livestock (though...
