    Garlic Laced Nori

Is anyone aware of a recipe for making garlic laced nori? That is, if you buy Asian market nori, is there a way of infusing it with garlic? And I would prefer a homemade recipe over telling me to squirt Kent Garlic Xtreme (Or some other brand), on the Nori.

    Merv's new 40 gallon build

Rich, I like it….you’ve solved one of my concerns.  I want a way to “valve” off the water to the pump for those times you have to pull the pump out for maintenance.  I have been very concerned in putting a ball valve just off the bulkhead, especially on a glass tank.  The torque you put on the...

I've actually picked stuff up from their place in Dayton (section of South Brunswick), maybe a mile or two off of Route 130.

    Reefkeeper Lite Temperature Calibration

Well my story gets better. I just recently picked up a Reefkeeper 2 and calibrated the temperature of the RK 2 to the Reefkeeper Lite’s temperature. I actually did this for maybe three days straight of readjusting the calibration so that they matched. I think the last calibration I did they were...

    Merv's new 40 gallon build

Merv, fantastic Tale of the Tank. Love all these pictures…shows some real quality work being done. Great job. I’m going external with the pump and I have a question about your pump setup. Oh, I will be using rubber stoppers for vibrations…great idea. What is that first piece you have after the...

Eric Borneman's Famous Fish/Coral Food Recipe

I’m pretty sure that is the recipe dantheman uses when he does his “group buy” cookout to make a crap-load of food for as many people who want in. HERE’S THE LINK to the last time Dan had this group buy.

How often do you empty the skimmer cup?

You will need to size the hole size with the barb.  One note of imporatnce...the tap needs to be NPT....PIPE thread....not standard "bolt" thread. The difference is that pipe is tappered.

Brandon, I'm located in Sayreville. The fish is about 1 1/2 inches long. Nice size. Thanks.

How often do you empty the skimmer cup?

My MRC 2 has a threaded barb that comes off the collection cup. The tube drains down into a rather simple waste collection container ( a used grapefruit juice container from ShopRite). There are double “safety systems” on this. For one, the tube going into the collection container, if...

Maroon Clown - Proceeds to Go to the Club

    Battery backup

I respectfully must disagree.  If you have a conventional gas water heater (the old school kind that ONLY has a gas line attacked to it … most common in residential homes), then it functions off of a pilot light.  No electricity is needed.  Just be aware that some of the newer high efficiency...

55 and 30 Gallon Drum Guy in Milltown

Taz, unfortunately I’m a peon on RC and have no search rights. In the past I would simply put in 55 and Milltown and find this guy on our site. I must have been responsible for more then ten of these barrels being sold. Now that I need one, I’m stuck. Do any of the “super” people have access to...

    Computer Fan Cooling Unit

In anticipation of finally getting around to building the canopy for the tank, I had to replace the nice purple cooling fan that was purchased at WalMart. It would not fit under the planned new canopy and was rather noisy. Here’s a mug shot of the purple fan: I had five old…really old...

55 and 30 Gallon Drum Guy in Milltown

I need another 30 and maybe 55 gallon drum and so I searched our site for that guy in Milltown. I’m guessing because the For Sale forum disappeared that all searchable stuff in that forum went by-by as well. I can’t find that guys email. Would anyone happen to have it? Thanks.

    Beach Cleanup May 15th Poll

Hey, I can’t help it if I can’t multitask.  I’m a man!  I either look at the month, or look at the date.  I saw 15 and thought it was this month.  Now that I see it is some date in May, I’m not sure if I can make it.  Weekends that time of year are bad for me.

Are you saying the the Koralia controller is the only controller that could be used with these new powerheads? I won't be able to use my RK2?

    Beach Cleanup May 15th Poll

Bob, what time, where and what do you want us to bring? We are talking Monday, the 15th, and I'm good unless my accountant calls a last-minute meeting, which she does too often. Thanks for pulling this together.

    New Koralia Evolution 1400

Here’s another thought for the new base. These new Korialias may be used with wave-makers. I’m assuming that means that they can be turned on and off repeatedly. Maybe this new base dampens the torque and noise associated with constantly be turned on and off. With the old base, maybe this...

    New Koralia Evolution 1400

James, I haven’t actually tried sliding it on the older mount, but it appears to be the same size post. I would guess that the rubber shock absorbing component removes any chance of vibrational noise through the glass.
