Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Build a steel tube stand with removable panels. Reduce contact with floor and you can clean up as needed. Still damage with the hard to avoid. Also all in one tanks may be better for this.
Maybe start a high end frag trade thread is a more viable option. Trade only no sale. This encourages people to buy some high end corals. Quite difficult to define what High End is though.
I don't see how this will work with only one person growing out the frags. 6 months is a long time anything can happen even to the most experienced reefer. But I do like the idea.
How about this:
1. After demonstrated the ability to successfully keep SPS for longer period of time, n people is...
If you could avoid putting sump under tank. Much easier to work with otherwise.
As Mike said have the auxiliary tanks planned out and plumbed so water change is just flipping a switch instead of running soft hoses.
We don't QT a foreigner when he enters the country, even if he is tired and sick and carry transmittable diseases. In fact we allow them to sit right next to us in the same small airplane for long period of time while breathing the same air and using the same restrooms to pee and poop! Humans...
When it comes to reeding there are always a lot of stuff on everyone s wish list, unless of course you're bill gates. Even if this does everything accurately I probably still have 5 items ahead of it on the list. I have been doing fine mostly with weekly alk test and monthly testing of...
I was there today. My first. Much bigger event than I expected and I spent at least 4 hours checking out the floor and listened to two talk. Bought some supplies but only one piece of sps, a deep water Fantasia frag from Jason fox. I enjoyed it very much.
The hair algae is out-competing with everything else in your tank for nutrient. I have similar issue now but I know it's caused by the new rocks. No hair algae only the fluffy kind. Algae grows in the DT only. Macro is not growing well in the refugium. I am getting some snails to take care of...
What an coincidence. We had an outage last night after which the pump output was much lower than usual which caused the sump water level much higher than usual. This only happens to my rio pumps. I am thinking about replacing the rio pump eventually. When the water level is high the skimmer...
Switched to T-mobile 9 months ago save $100+/month which should cover the power consumption :)
Paying a lot in winter to heat the tank. So I run in sump return pump which helps.
These are great rocks I originally got it from SPotter. Very porous and not very common. Easy to stack.
Taped area is 48"x24".
Does not leach anything. I have it lightly itched.
Thanks guys. Most of the frags are mounted. Some minor adjustment and trim the big austera colony then it's just the waiting game. Have a few spots left but one thing I wanted to do is to give the corals enough room to grow.
Fish seem to like the open swimming room. The regal has been doing the...
Finally, after thinking about a long time, I decided to completely redo the scape. One problem is the nagging bubble algae problem. The rocks are too porous once infected it's hard to get rid of. There is a poly infestation here and there and other unwanted stuff. Also I like to have more space...
