Austin, the deltec model suggests to stir the kalkwasser mix 24x7. Is this how you run it at your work? Curious as to whether running it this way causes any kalk to enter the sump.

being that Phosguard is aluminum oxide, is it a good idea to use in a tank that already has livestock? I've read that these types of products can increase aluminum levels in the tank and irritate corals. Thought it would be safer to use GFO in tanks with coral inhabitants.

as long as the ingredient is Cyanoacrylate, you're ok to use it. I use the superglue brand. Make sure you use gel, cause it sure is messy if you don't.

Why Ph in the effluent, and not Ph of the main system?

To expand on the discussion...PowerHead or Magnetic stirrer? The main gripe I've heard about using PHs to mix the kalk is that because the powder is flowing thru the PH, it'll clog and cease up eventually. Also, how often do you schedule the mixing pump to turn on throughout the day?
