Can just break off a piece...I'm sure it will grow back.
I have 2 large kenya trees(and a few small ones that I cant get to to get rid of) and enough star polyps that I have to cut them back or am gonna be over run with them very soon.

Ever since my first tank I have used one.
I had a bad power strip on my 1st tank and had enough stray voltage running through the tank to start a car.
After that I always used one....you never know if a pump or a heater will leak current into your tank and I always though it never hurt...
Each brand of ballast fires the bulb differently perhaps?
When I swapped out the last of the old ballasts this morning and lit up my tank it was much brighter and a bit more of a blue tinge came out of the bulbs. I had thought there was a brightness/colour difference when I had 2 stock ballasts...
Took out the last 2 old internal ballasts and sockets this morning.....replaced with all new ballasts and sockets I got at Icecap.
Lit up when I tested it outside....am waiting for them to come on for the day to make sure its a go and they all stay lit
not yet....unit is still hot and the t-5's are still lit.

Have a 150 bulb in my 6 ft fixture that wont stay lit.....fires up and fully illuminates and then it goes out after about 10 mins.
Before I rip the fixture apart should I be thinking its a ballast issue or a bulb issue....has done it 2x today already. Bulbs are new ans ballasts are a few years...

Tangs are good.... eating like pigs and happy as can be.
I didnt remember the tank being a rectangle more of a angled end but not a bowfront either.
Am thinking more like a flatback hex (it was caddy cornered so maybe that is what is throwing me off.
