Im as new to this as you are so I may not be your best help , but it sounds like maybe your baffles are to high or not enough flow . how is your tank plumbed ? is there alot of 45s and 90s that are creating head pressure loss for you pump ? how far is your pump pumping the water ?

what is restricting your flow that there is that little flow in your sump? I would think that algea would build up. I would check the output of the motor on the power head and either get a smaller one or add a cheap fan to the sump. But then you will have more evaporation. I would look it why...

this is it VERY BASIC SKETCH my camera skills amonst others are very bad. The tank is set up now all 4 drains go into the wet / dry I just want to add the rubbermaid and im not sure if or how much it will effect the waterlevel in the wet/ dry.

The system is functional now the only difference would be the placement of the rubbermaid, wouldnt that mean the majority of my water would not be going through the skimmer or does it just go thru in a round about way and just take longer. ?? the current sump is able to handle all 4 drains...

That has happened to me before, if you watch them when they change color its usally a day or so till they hatch. You can suck them out with a turkey baster, the hard part is feeding them the initial foodm that they need , like green water and such. Its very cool to watch though. It says wonders...
