I went to replace my sockets in my Aqua Medic Spacelight this morning, when I went to disconnect the wires from the igniter the plastic crumbled in my hands. I searched the internet, and can't find any info on the igniter so I guess I need to know if the newer ballast have the igniter built in...

I'm getting a buildup of oil in the return section of my sump, middle section of this pic. In case your wondering the right side is a refugium, needs to be weeded, thanks Mike ;D ;D I would imagine this is something to be concerned with ??? ??? Is this a lack of skimming or flow ??? ???

They actually look different, and there is a rattle type noise. The center of the bulb is turned 90 degrees from the other halide bulbs I have.

Same wattage, DE HQI, won't fire, only difference is the brand have the Phoenix bulbs and they work fine.

To update this, I switched back to my old lights and everything is working fine, any ideas as to why the Giesemann's won't fire up ???

I just switched out my lights to new Giesemann's, went to turn them on to check out the color and their not firing up. Yesterday everything worked fine. The halide plug on my aqua spacelight is extremely hot after being plugged in for about 15 minutes. Any idea's why ??? These are dual 250's...

I apply plumbers tape, it seals them well gluing won't hurt anything though.

I have frogspawn, shrooms, a bta, and zoa's in my 24g along with 2 clowns.
