Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
I don't recall - but i thought it was definitely under 3 digits.
I think the other concern with the octo is if it squirts ink - the chemical does not easily get removed and you will need to run a lot of carbon to ensure it is quickly taken out before the tank fouls.
But they are by far the...
Dunno...if you fill it with water is the haze even viewable? Maybe you could run a leak test and while you are at it see if the haze is viewable when water is in the tank. But i dunno - maybe someone else can chime in.
As i recall mbodell posted many times asking people who submitted the potm to allow their use in the calendar - but it appears not many people agreed/or sent in a viable copy/image.
an octo would be so cool. I saw a vid of someone who fed him/her fiddler crabs. The freaky octo could go thru the overflow grates (about 1/2 wide) and out into the display to eat. It's a shame though the lifespan is short.
I was at TFP a few months back and they had a pair of Octos for sale.
holy cow that is awesome. I always loved the 28 nano - it was really great why you had set that tank up.
btw the little giraffe thing cracks me up. My girls leave stuff all the time - i'm like a broken record - please put your toys away! ;)
Anyways - looking forward to the build! Have you...

eh...if it works for you - go for it. I also read those articles sometimes with a grain of salt - because one person's way is not necessarily the right way for everyone else. The parasite thing is freaky though. By now you'd probably have noticed it if there was an issue. Anyways - if you go...
Onyx - fake name - made first for the clownfish
Nassarius - true latin name for the Nassarius Vibex snail.
You have the Ilyanassa Obsoleta which blue zoo at least has the guts to admit that.
The false advertising is kinda sad - goes to show you can't trust anything from a retailer. Even one...
No such thing as an 'onyx" nassarius snail. What you have (more than likely) is the snails being sold on ebay - nassarius obseleta.

In a nutshell - if that is what you have - they are not reef safe and are also possible parasite carriers.
maybe pick up an ammonia badge and place in the DT to have ready access to see whether the ammonia is creeping up due to the LR being removed. If you are doing it slow it's unlikely - but just in case.
fyi - in the new tank - see if you can boost mag levels with kent tech m - i plan on doing...
great idea....i am mulling the diea of using my bc29 for a SH tank. However it will wait until i figure out a way to raise the clowns since i'd like this to be the grow-out tank for the larvae.
