don't have shrimp in my tank - but if i were to bet - the coris wrasse would be it. between it and the sixline they could probably tag team and rip a molted shrimp apart. my yellow coris started small (slim like the firefish) but is now a big fat torpedo.
i've dealt with them before - great place great prices. They bought out all of the tunze's supply of remaining 6000's back in 2008 and resold them.
i stumbled onto that - i wish they had a premaquatics forum here to announce sales like that.
Personally I enjoy heading to AqOb. Not only were...
Try this - place the clown in a specimen container and let the six line get used to it. Even if you get a new clown - consider doing this so the other fish adjust to it.
A sixline can be dr. jekll mr hyde. Even in a large tank the six line could go psycho and kill everyone. Ideally you capture...
Nickjr -Looks like a common bristle worm you'd find in the most reef tanks. You'd be surprised how big of a worm could be hiding inside a small piece of LR.
That stated, larger worms tend to become a little more risky. For example, a eunice species will be a great scavenger when small, but has...
Marc spoke at MACNA and he's a genuinely great reef geek guy. I would not hesitate to buy from him if that is the direction you want to go. If you had questions about it - I'm sure he'd respond. He's based in Dallas I believe.
That stated - as a member of NJRC - you can't go wrong supporting a...
So nikki...i was there today and discovered some fish had made their way to your tanks...you will have to share... ;D
Somehow I missed the whole crew of njrc folks....what were you all on lunch break? haha. Picked up some cool frags and then kicked myself as I needed some putty and forgot to get...
in terms of gpd - i went with a 75 (option for 100 on the unit). The 75 provides slightly higher rejection rates so you get slightly better quality water.
I use a typhoon 3 from airwaterice. I would not bypass the softner. I don't personally.
??? ??? ???
Wendy - you don't need anything to do anything but get a time capsule to track and log one of the most beautiful tanks ever.
TOT YEAR if we had one.
MSX is popular: http://www.marinesolutionsinc.com/catalog/Protein-Skimmers-MSX-Skimmers/c22_48/index.html
EuroReef/ASM skimmers will also work fine in a pinch.
ATB/Bubble King/Deltec are high end products that might be overkill depending on what you are willing to spend.
unfortunately with skimmers - the "get what you pay for" motto applies.
Though at macna we learned that spending four digits on a skimmer may not really buy you that much more over a 3 digit dollar skimmer.
might be time to consider buying a new skimmer...
