Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
welcome dave! i won't be at the next meeting (out of town) - but hopefully we can catch up in july! New folks always seem to have the best luck with raffles! :)
hope the trip to AqOb went ok.
While the mods discuss the recent bru-haha, may I direct attention to the many other forums/threads NJRC has to offer??? ;D
I think personal differences aside we are all looking to promote reefkeeping in a sound manner with conservation as it's priority.
NJRC is proud to support and help our...
Obviously he doesn't know you and I don't know if you have your membership card yet. So be sure to ask if he can look up your membership. Otherwise you won't get the discount.
Great news!
goes to show that even for tank-raised/captive bred fish - they are just engineered in the head to know to head for an anemone.
fyi - I saw a gorgeous small flame angel at AqOb.
LOL. Well everytime I'm there I see that black couch. I see the one depression has filled in much better and I say to Wil - Napoli? he nods. Then I look at the other side that is nice and worn and I say - Blange?
;D ;D
No problem-o. Under all the usernames - right underneath should be a tag. Our sponsors will have the "sponsor tag". Members will say "member" and then frag/colony etc. Non members will just have the frag/colony designation. That changes based on number of posts.
If i didn't say so - welcome to...
So I just want to reiterate that in the 7 months since the tank has been up - I'm still tweeking things.
First the algae seems to have suddenly gone from green to this brownish hue - like it's dying. This is a good thing. The bubble algae though still appears to be two bulbs fine. I need to...
Re: Here's my now 375 (was 120) by Bax
Bax - i hope that is 4x a day. If you are taking 4 of them at a time you run the risk of putting an ulcer in your stomach lining. Trust me - my college buddy did that and she was in a ton of pain after that. Just be cautious.
larger sized worms can be nuisance. But typically they get large because the hobbyist is overfeeding. Consider them the tanks unofficial clean up crew. If you see too many -it's a sign of overfeeding/too many nutrients.
In general they are helpful but the larger ones I distrust. Also no natural...
dave - i think, not sure, but i think you think rod owns AO. Rod is a customer - he bought the clam already. I was there on tuesday and he had a few nice blue maximas left. That stated- you might want to call or post in the Aquatic Obsessions board to ask.
shan should give you like royalties for all the times you mention him. ;)
Just like tunze should for me. hahah.
hey monroereef - powerhead choices include:
vortech (never owned)
tunze streams gen2 (never owned)
tunze streams gen1 (no longer made, but they well built and still supported by...
From what I've seen here - you have to be a spammer, request to be booted (e.g. quit), or really really tick off the mods. I won't say what other forums - but it doesn't take a whole lot to get booted from some places. ::)

I think one has 10 posts.
One has 2000 posts but that was before I came here.
and I seem to have surpassed that post count here. ;D
Re: My Oceanic Tech 120 and a request for input.
I am trying to take a break from working/checking my email...it's great to look at your fish and tank!!!!
holy cow that back wall is like corralline heaven. ;D
That is a great pic of that frag. I placed mine in a torrent of flow and now the...
not sure if you have ever been to that fish place in lancaster, pa. I mention it because supposedly it's retail space is about 100,000 sq ft. The place is like a costco for fish lovers (the warehouse aspect - no food sampling.. ;)). Now half the place is devoted to dogs, cats, reptiles, birds...
clams have been more and more restricted due to import issues.
That stated - I have seen Ocean Gallery II and Aquatic Obsessions get nice clams. If you prefer online - Dr. Mac/pacific.east.aquaculture and Clam's Direct have gotten great reviews.
as far as macna - i have never been either. I...
