    vendors location?

We've populated most of the vendor locations with sticky's in each vendor forum. Quite a few are online sponsors and have no physical location. Which vendor in particular are you looking for?

Trouble with my sump and possibly plumbing

why not just shut down the tunze and see if that resolves the bubbles. If not - then you know it's not the skimmer. If you eliminate the skimmer as the potential issue - then the next thing to consider is if the return pump is somehow sucking air. Another thought is if the overflow crashing...

    Newbie Light question

I cannot comment on the fixture since I've never used it before- but if you hit the "enlarge" button on the pic - take a look at the bulbs - those are Compact Fluorescents...All CF's have the "bent-tube" shape. It affords the ability to produce a large amount of light in a small space...

    Salinity/Specific Gravity way to high

Re: Specific Gravity way to high Just a minor point which Bryan noted - the quotation of 1.026 is a known as specific gravity. Salinity is measured in ppt. So you could say your salinity is 35ppt. Or you could say your sg is 1.026. anyways - good luck! no matter how you decide to resolve...

    New Skimmer

no experience...sorry. boozeman/pnoy have Bks....edward771 has the ORCA. I recall at least one member loving deltecs. anyways - skimmer opinions are going to vary. I heard good things about the ATI Bm - not sure if anyone actually runs on here on njrc (i'm sure there's someone) price sounds...

    New Skimmer

the Reeflo ORCA is a really nice skimmer.... at that price level you could also even look into a bubble king mini.

    Protein Skimmer Recommendations

everyone has different ideas but one suggestion might be an aqua c remora pro (hang on the back) or even the Aqua c urchin - which should be small enough to fit the sump.

Adam's new 215gal Oceanic in wall!!

cool! will be following your thread. I bought my 120 from AqOb and I thought that was big. LOL. Glad you had a car/truck big enough to haul that. In terms of the powerheads - you could also choose a third option which would be an external pump hooked into a closed loop. But if it were me -...

    Location Thread!

Mike - most folks place their location when creating their user id. I'm not sure if this is a feature limited to members or not - but if you click on the userid - (if a person populated it) - it will show location.

    My Oceanic Tech 120

Re: My Oceanic Tech 120 and a request for input. Bax/blange have been in this a lot longer than me so I'm not questioning their expertise. The observation of iodine impact on the clams is an interesting one and I hope to experiment with that in the future myself (once i have enough funds to...

    Koralia 4 or 3???

I am not a hydor koralia user - but i imagine the answer depends on whether you use the controllable version or not. Also depends if you plan on having any SPS in the tank and how deep this sand bed is going to be. Now if I were designing a shallow sand bed (less than 2 inches) of say .5~1 mm...

my 125 is a year old

gorgeous pics - thanks for sharing. I know the weather up in the cd area can get very cold - are you using a lot of heaters in the tank or is the house just naturally warm? Also - in the FTS I can only see a pair of firefish -the others are hiding (i hope?). Reason I ask is that I'd love to...

    My Oceanic Tech 120

Re: My Oceanic Tech 120 and a request for input. sorry to hear about the firefish...I have an open top also (as you noticed) and like bax says - jumper are jumpers...the question is - what is causing the startling/spooking. I dunno. One would hope that 24 inches of height in a tank would help...

    Hawkeye's AGA 120

Re: AGA 120 (very few pictures and lots of dull writing) we shall see! The main reason I liked it was that it could be run externally. The sump I have doesn't have a large foot print internally to take an in-sump skimmer (at the least the size I'd like). I am still trying to figure out the...
