constantocean - welcome to njrc! read part of your tankthread - you'll have to spill what lfs you go to nearby - is it ocean gallery ii? i work right in warren (off 78/warrenville rd) so always up for a lunch-break lfs visit!
I don't - but that's because I don't know any better...lol. Lots of people have frogspawn in tanks with high flow...but the key is that they don't sit directly in front of that flow. Dunno if that helps or not - but my tunze is situated in the mid-part of the tank blowing across - and my froggy...
I don't necessarily equate sand = cyano. Unless it was like sand for a playground and has silica in it.
You compared another tank - but do both tanks have the same bioload? the same GPH? same schedule in lighting? etc. A bit of a tangent - but this is that old adage- lots of roads to accomplish...
Actually you can do something similarly (just less fancy) with PVC. Paletta's book New Marine Aquarium has a pic of one. In addition one could be to drill rods into the LR to stabilize the structure/ or use those zip-ties.
Btw - one reason I'd consider setting it up would be if I ever wanted a...
in the future you could always ask a mod to "move the thread"...in this case to photography if you started a thread in the wrong place accidentally.
sorry to hear about the 4yr old. My 5yr old brings back all kinds of germs...the kids really take "sharing" a little too far. ;)

More likely - the zoas may be being impacted by something else and the asterinas are cleaning up?
I dunno..if you...

really nice.
how do you like the pinpoint controllers? Still ramping up my 120 and trying to figure out what equipment is "required/nice to have". Thanks!
what LFS btw - ? are you keeping the good ones secret from us? ;)
Personally I find the New Marine Aquarium(by michael s. paletta) to be a decent first level read...
I read in that article that they are totally unafraid and that you could just bring a big zip lock bag and grab em. Supposedly one diver tried to sell 50 babies to a Long Island LFS...

THE LIONFISH INVASION....NOAA discovery series
Also - would be interesting to see if NOAA dissected a sandtiger shark and see if any lionfish were in the stomach...those sharks "eat anything" right?
first of all...it's march 2nd - and you said you'd post pics feb 26! ;D
Anyways - depending on the snails you purchased already - you may want to consider an invert to help keep the sand turned/clean.
I agree with Jrwohler...picking up a book may also fill in the gaps that may not be readily...
