acclimating inverts is important - if you did not drip it acclimate - there is a possibility the snail suffered some kind of shock and just slowly died. Just a possibility.

if the color is low (0.8) -then your tank may be experiencing PH swings because of the low ALK. Then again I was never good at looking/comparing colors - everytime I ask my wife or daughter - everyone has a different opinion.
