Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
And here is the plexiglass cover held in place by a frame. I originally said ¼ inch, but it’s actually 1/8” plexiglass.
I remain having a slight bit of concern over the amount of condensation on the inside of the canopy. Just have to keep an eye on it. At least the light will...
Home Depot has a slew of John Guest like fittings. They are made by Watts and labeled quick connect fittings. Come in ¼, 3/8 and ½…….and fit clear tubing. You can see where I used quick connect elbows for a sight tube in THIS diy.
Not sure of your application, but I tapped it...
POSTING PICTURES: If you take the web address (http://blah, blah, blah) and place it between this:
You will see the picture within the post…..
EDIT TO ADD: For some reason that didn't work....maybe because it's a secure website....https. Let's try making the thumbnail a picture...
Darn you Zippy! If you hadn’t mentioned this, it wouldn’t have happened…….(this is a proverb from the Book of Ostriches).
I checked the canopy/light fixture for moisture this morning and this is what I found on the front wood piece:
And the light was dripping condensation...
Check out your head loss HERE.
I use a MAG 18 to empty my waste water from the RO/DI. In the summer, most goes on my lawn, an approximate seven foot head. Now it's only going through 3/4 inch pipe/hose. I have to run that pump at least a half hour to empty the 55 gallon drum.
Now hold on one minute. Let’s analyze this…..you’ve got Nikki (a woman); a bottle of wine; some chocolate treats; whipped cream (not necessarily used on the brownies)……........doesn’t sound like a fight to me. I think Mike needs to worry about what’s going on here. :o
Thanks everyone for the compliments. Now if only I could get the tank looking good.
Matt, Mike (greybolt) had the answer.....hardware stores, even HD or Lowe's carry these. They are called plastic cable clamps.
Wow John! Looks real good. I like it. I also had a little deja vu episode with the RTV reminding me of my engine rebuilding days. That stuff can take major abuse with hot engine oils and still hold up. I use to use blue and yellow RTV.....good stuff.
Looks like the start of a plan.
FYI, MAG pumps are not pressure pumps and therefore won't be able to lift your water ten feet. Going to have to find some other pump.
If you're going two reactors, check out BRS dual reactor.....I really like the clean look and that it definitely does not leak.
Pete, thanks for the compliment.
I know exactly what you are talking about. I will keep an eye on that over the next few days. I could easily add a ¼” piece of plexi to cover the hole.
Here’s what I just noticed now in regard to condensation. I’ve had the blues on for a few hours...
Hey Zippy, not sure what you meant by that…..having worked with China for medical grade plastics, I take that “Chinese” comment as meaning it will contain heavy metals (cadmium, lead, and others). Now realize that most of these metals have much lower levels of oxidation capacity (rust), when...
I NEED A REEFKEEPER 2!!!
After having to set up the JBJ 28, I’m getting tired of having to manually turn on lights, play with temperature, etc. I need a Reefkeeper…..an old style Reefkeeper 2.
I know many of you young-uns want to connect to your tank controllers and have abandon the...
First off the MP40 has a glass thickness setting, so that’s taken care of. Just make sure you set the thickness for your glass. If it’s in between, go for the thinner setting.
But more importantly, with an MP40 in a 40 breeder, that thing will never get close to running at 100%. Mike...
