Don't control the PH. It's a result of many factors including the co2 concentration in the atmosphere. I use it purely as a reference. If it changes too much I try to identify the cause.

Seems the germicidal version has one less ingredient than the regular one. so I am going to use it. I guess only reefers check ingredients of bleach :)

I have one of these thermistor that came with a multimeter. In general I adjust heater size seasonally so as not to cook the inhabitant.
