i actually tried to follow the same rule when i re-scaped my tank. i honestly enjoy the two island look compared to the wall look. it offers better flow and more negative space to place things on.

Frag tank is up and running and I am in the process of transferring all my corals. One questions though, I have a Derasa Clam. can I just place these guys on the bare bottom or on the racks? don't they need something to hold on to?

use both. lol they wont be set to max but you have the comfort of knowing you have the flow if needed. if you were ti stick with one, go with the mp40, you can control the flow either way stick with the bigger pump! let me know if you decide to sell the mp10, could use it on the frag tank :p
