you should be good with just one with 90 optics at around 12" - 24" above the water line. I'd say 16" would be ideal. if you want par all over though, go with two but not really needed.

If you are having a cyano problem, you might want to look into dosing MicroBacter7. I dosed this when my tank was having cyano issues and It was quickly resolved in a couple of weeks. You might also want to try CoralSnow into the mix like Sunny does to keep cyano at bay. I ordered myself some...

As some of you know already I've decided to go a totally different route with this rebuild. I am not longer going with the 90RR and will be ordering a new tank soon :) I will keep you guys posted as soon as I order the tank and will let you know what I went with.

I guess I will be switching and trying out ecoBAK on my next build. I was using AquaMaxx Bio Pellets before and so no issues except for a cyano breakout.

not to open up a an of worms here but is there really a difference in bio-pellets? as far as effectiveness? I mean does the ecoBaK pellets perform better than the BRS pellets for example.

GSP for me, those things will grow on anything.

thanks for the offer but I actually have a 20 tall. I made a mistake when I was making my stand for the frag tank and forgot to measure the available space for the skimmer collection cup so I need the height of the 20 long. never rush into things lol
