I'd go all out on a skimmer,the new cones from what I've seen and read are insane. Then depending on what corals I'd look into calcium/kalk reactors.

You could possably save the casing. You would have to measure the thickness of your bulbs,ballasts and reflector see what the height of the "retro" is as well to see if everything will fit in your JBJ case. You might need to have the T5 ballasts in a remote location.

I would email perfecto before removing any braces.

I'm putting a canopy on my tank and have painted the inside with kilz primer/sealer. Just wondering if I should put a top coat on it or if the primer/sealer is good enough? Thanks

If his stomach is pinched I think you need to worry now. I would try freeze dried krill or a silver-side stuck in a sea weed clip.
