Honestly, I wish I would have bought a little stronger of a pump and then i could have throttled it back if necessary. For some reason I just like a lot of flow. ;) Anyway, I got the Iwaki 20RLXT It says ~880 @ 0 head.

Actually, I just got a better pump and the scwd is working great. Corals seem happy, flow seems adequate, etc... Just took a little time and rebuilding...and multiple trips to PA to the store. ;)

I'd worry about heat in that little cubby more than burning anything. My light is less than 15 inches from some coral as well. Closer to 10, really.
