Three years ago I picked up a Honda mower 3 speed and mulcher at a garage sale for $10.
It stalled out and ran rough. I took it a guy in town that fixes them. Needed a carburetor and $30 later up and running.
Total $40 and still runs but will probably get a new one this year as it tends to over...
After removing the hair algae manually about 2 weeks ago my Nitrates test at 40ppm as of today. I just did a 10g water change sucking out dirt and sand.
My house stinks from this stuff. I will need to remove the sand bed for sure now.
I believe the answer to your question is yes. They are not reef safe and some maybe okay others not. So its or miss. I have one and after observing my frogspawn disappearing I assume dit was my clowns nestiing. Now my large hammer lost 2 heads and I have seen the flame hanging around it.
Brizjuan,
A few months back one of the mangers their told methey are eliminating a large portion of the salt stuff. So it should be all of them but I went to the one in Holmdel on Rt35.
A few months back I posted PetsMart was clearing out the salt section and I picked up a 150g mix of CoralLife for about $20.
Well I picked up another for $11.
I would turn it off for a day and start it backup. I find it hard to believe you have to do a water change after using a bit of putty.
How much did you use by the way?
I will take some blame here too. I didn't mean to imply Nikki or anyone was wrong either just if you ask 10 people you get 10 different opinions.
Steve, thanks for the offer; if I need it will give you shout.
I am not saying Nikki is wrong. Just what discussion took place.
I can't make large quantities of water so will do the best I can.
If the small changes start to kick up to much dirt floating in the water column then obviously I will stop immediately and regroup.
Nikki, funny you said that as there were some opinions at the meeting whether to do it slowly or all at once. Majority rule was to do slowly.
I don't plan to stir up the sand bed. Sick a good size hose into the sand and suck it out. Most of the dirt will get sucked along. Your comments on
a tank...
Steve,
I have seen that article, thanks. From what I was told is that all the dirt in my sand probably contributing to phosphate, nitrate and HA. It was suggested to remove the sand slowly not to disrupt the bio-load. Once I have all the sand out then concentrate on water changes.
The clowns are not very big but are dive right into the Frogspawn heads and shake about. The larger one is trying host the Neon green hammer but that is very large and so far no issues. I did find the nem it s alive and moved so hopefully the clowns will go back to it.
thanks for the nem offer...
My mutt hates water, baths, rain, etc. Overall he is very well behaved and even some Vets thought I had him trained professionally. He will not go out in the yard when it rains; even if I stand out there with him. He will hold it as long as he can with no house accidents. With this rain he...
Jonathan it is 75g DT with 30g sump. I plan to suck whatever sand I can easily get to while doing 5g water changes every week. I have a 1/2 deep sand; just for looks.
After this as sand moves out from flow/fish I will also suck that up. I will keep the tank bare bottom going forward.
