You can just block off the pre drilled holes or use them for a closed loop. Drill the tank yourself wherever you want. Trust me get it the way you want before you set it up or you'll regret it big time.
Oliver you want to syphon out all the flatworms you can see before you use the exit. The more that die in your tank means the more toxins will be released into your tank. This is what can kill your livestock. After you treat syphon them out too i guess
I think most reefers add their salt mix to the ro and then mix it with a pump for 24 hrs before use. this lets all the elements dissolve and the ph and alk balance out. I think todays salt has everything in it you need, just mix with ro and your ready to use.
As far as the calcium and mag and...
There is a lot of different little things that can be doing this, and a lot of little things to fix it. Pics will help. Try to raise your drain pipe about an inch above the water
+1 use the plastic or composite shims. Home depot has them. This way being its in the basement on cement, if water ever sits or puddles around the shim it wont rot out. Just thinking in the long run.
When you level it, you only have to bring the low end up to level it. but does your stand have...
Yup flatworm. Siphon as many out as you can and try a 6 line wrasse or flatworm exit, or both. I heard you have to dose 2x the amount of exit as it says on package. Then do a big water change. Flatworms are toxic when they die, even more so if you have a lot of them
I know the old silicone 1 was reef safe, but i noticed they changed their tube. All the stuff printed on it seems the same. Is it still ok to use? Also, how long are people letting this silicone cure before they expose it to their tank? In the mid of building a sump so i was curious.
If the mid is getting no light and dying i dont think it will effect the rest of it.The new growth should be fine. Can you move it in to better light? Maybe its time to frag ;D
