I do it every year. Usually I spend the money and replace heaters that seem to be too far off.
Just finished checking my 30 gallon tanks and found one heater that had quit completely.
Better to check now and avoid the emergency later!

Cool. I know that whatever she uses, it will have to be cured for a good amount of time in fresh water to get the PH down.
