But as we already know you should also pull out your under gravel filter, you shouldn't be using NSW, you shouldn't be adding sand/mud from the sea and you shouldn't be using local critters. ;) We had a lot of build up in ours and I am glad we pulled it but then again as my wife always says...

This brings up the question, if you were offered corals as part of your pay, how long would it take until your cash take home was less than your coral take home? :D

The gorgonian in the front is a deep purple, I picked it up at Reef to Reptiles. The one in the back is yellow with purple polyps and got it at Trop.

For cleaning glass and hardware vinegar is a solid choice.

Bio-spira I believe is the most popular and a lot of people swear by it but I did not have it available locally to me.  I used Dr. Tim's which was great, it cycled the tank in less than two days.  Edit: Dr. Tims is what they have at Trop and that is where I got it.

If the sand smells like sulfer then get rid of it. When we lost power for two days the same thing happened to our sand bed, we got rid of it and started with a new sand bed.
