Dave, Thanks for the read. I didn't realize it was a certain type of algae. Most articles led to me believe it was a place to have algae grow instead of the DT. While the water passes through it would in a sense help clean it. Now I will have to give it more thought. Mark

I have seen that and was going to try it but one thing stopped me. If I remove all the socks, pads, etc. wouldn't all the dirt get trapped on screen? Then you wouldn't you be in the same position of not replacing/cleaning the that equipment? I could never find out how long it takes for the turf...

Are you saying that frozen foods aren't good or good enough? All the food I feed the fish is frozen such as mysis, brine, blood worms, spirulina, and reef plankton. I was always hesitant on using fish eggs only because I wasn't sure what to use. I don't know any stores locally that sell live...

Rich, That sucks but don't leave. I think going FOWLR is a good idea right now. The fish don't need as much care as the corals. I am considering the same thing and plan to add more shrooms whether I upgrade or not.

Paul, Been reading your posts and was wondering what constitutes healthy in your opinion. Is it just food or other things? I always felt my fish were healthy as I feed a varied diet but none even attempted spawning. Mark
