Yep sounds like you answered your own question. I think it all depends on what you have in the tank and what gets used up. The more water changes you do the less you have to dose obviously.

I like what you did, I think it is actually fairly unique and with your fuge you should be good. I am tempted to say the RHS rocks could move closer to the center piece...just a thought and not meaning to take anything from the center and pillar which I like a lot.

Well that is a good place to start, feeding them adds nuitrients into the water is the only downside. I have had a whip one for years that is photo and a new one from ACC also photo and aquacultured but looks almost like a sponge shape that is also photo both do really well. I don't feed them...

Photo or non-photosynthetic? If non I would suggest basting it with phytoplankton and zooplankton .... I have had much better luck with photosythetic ones.
