Phil, Yes I was using 48" fixture which I traded away. The 3" I don't think is a big deal as I can put my shrooms, a Sun coral there or other low light coral in those spots.

Jim, Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, the CBS died over night. Looks like the serpent star and urchin are also on their last leg. Tested the water and found the Nitrate at about 45ppm and the PH is at 7.7. I just finished a 15g water change. Guess I'll wait and see what happens. Mark

I actually won the "New Reef 6st 100GPD Reverse Osmosis RO+DI" for $56 plus $35 shipping. I just realized that it doesn't have an adapter for the sink. Will any adapter work or must I plum it under the sink? Thanks, Mark

I can't keep these alive either. I had two rocks one on each side of the tank. The left side they all melted away. The others are doing okay but doubt they will last long.

I found some good cars on craigs list before I went to Oasis. You might want to try that route. Only reason I didn't see it through was I wanted a warranty. You know how kids are.

I am measuring the temp in the tank. My sump sits below in the same cabinet. 75g RR tank with 30g sump. The fish, mushrooms and frog spawn seem fine. I lost many corals over the last few months. Still don't know why.

I was replacing about 3 gallons of water daily because evaporation. I took out the 300 watt from the sump. Temp was around 79-81 degrees. Now it is around 74 with 1 gallon or less evaporation daily. Is this temp acceptable? Thanks, Mark

You can try taking the YT out and put it in a separate tank for about week. This will allow the PBT to adjust and settle in. Then introduce the YT. Hopefully it will not remember the tank and try to find new territory with little to no impact on the others.

I too wanted a snowflake moray when I setup my 75g. It does have a canopy but the back is open with two fans. Do you cover this up or leave it? I didn't cover it becasue I figured the MH lights would get the water temp way to hot so left it open.
