my Phosphate is at 1 as of last week. I used some Rowaphos I had and ordered Phosguard. I will swap them out this weekend. but will test 1st of course.
My other post show this green slime rock which I removed.
I also decided to clean that black foam in the sump. Why did Red sea think this was a good idea as it was a bitch to get all 5 sections out. I ordered another that I can cut to size to make cleaning easier.
These were dirty but not as dirty as I though as I have not cleaned it since the tank was...
I pulled this rock out as it looked black in the tank but is covered in slime green. It smelled horrible so I tossed in a bucket with water, vinegar and peroxide. Will see in a week or two and decide to keep or toss.
Stopped by Mark W tonight and he tested my water using a Milwaukee tester. Low n behold my salinity is 1.027 and not 1.017. Thanks for the sanity check. Now I can focus on the phosphate level. Will also tell person I borrowed refractometer from its busted.
So I am more confused now. I calibrated the new and old refractometer using distilled water as instructed. Both read my tam water at 1.027. Yesterday I started ATO with saltwater of same salinity, maybe 3g went in so far.
I used the borrowed refractometer to double check and it still shows my...
As stated been having issue with my tank and did a 25g WC two weeks ago and 10g WC this week. Parameters are in range except for Phos at 1. I added what little Rowaphos I had left to try and reduce it.
On R2R I posted as well and someone said to salinity. Well finally borrowed a new hobbyist...
Distance should not matter as its an emergency situation. I do agree you need to find someone with similar tank. Example- If you have high end SPS you would not give frags to a per, like me, that is mainly a soft coral tank. You ant another SPS dominant tank person to give and hold the frag for you.
I am not referring to equipment or utilities in case of an emergency. I am referring to actual corals you own.
This club is to help each other and not just when there is a problem with their tank, coral, fish or etc.
When I first joined this club many people with high end coral, rare coral or...
Two days in and so far so good, knock wood...LOL
I did add Chemipure the day before water change at 1/2 recommended dosage.
15g water change and looks good as no new algae yet.
This green kind of slime algae on the sand would disappear at night and come back when light were on.
Research showed...
