240 gallon tank start up (picture intensive)

Oh Erna, I'm so sorry to hear about all the trouble you've dealt with. One thing after another, huh? Gosh! It'll get easier, and better....it has to. :)

Can't wait to see pictures.

And Anthony and Terry were of SO much help to me, too. :)

Erna, you and your family were great hosts. This sure was an adventure. Can't wait to see the finished pics now that all the behind the scenes work is done. Of course you know if Terri and Anthony were part of a tank swap you know there has to be at least one moon shot!

Hi Erna

Just picked up the thread and went through a rollercoaster of emotions!!!!

Felt great seeing you pick up and relocate Sam's great 240 setup....

Felt down when the leaks sprung and the PS nut wouldn't come off....

Felt great again when you all got it going even tho t'was midnite...

Feel exhausted just thinking about how much you have left to do.....

Feel confident that it will be spectacular when it's all done.......

Feel great about having seen all the NJRCer's that helped out.......

Congratulations, I can't wait to it up and running, especially with the new stuff you'll add from AO aince you will finish on schedule!!!

Erna,

Glad to hear it worked out. Let me know if you need any help with any additional plumbing or acrylic work

Sounds like a fun weekend! ;D

Thanks for the lessons learned. Confirms my plan to run the tank with fresh water for a few days to check for leaks. Then I'll drain and make the move of the other tanks.

When you've had some rest let's see some pictures.

Ok, here are the pics. Sorry for the quality, my new camera broke so we are using the old one and that is giving me problems.

The lights have been put up. I am using my 6 foot light (3 250 watt MH and 4 actinic pc's). I am going to see how it works out, but I actually like the color and look. I figure if I just place low light corals on the edges, I will be fine. The corals spent the night in garbage cans with powerheads, and I just placed them anywhere in the tank until I had time to aquascape.

Here are the pics of everything aquascaped and mostly settled. I didn't lose any fish in the move. Last night I moved the 90 gallon into the 150. After everything settles I will have to put up pics from that also. ;D

Erna,

The Aquascaping looks great. I especially like the right hand side of the tank. It's obviously been a LOT of work....

You win! ;D

Looks great Erna. The right side gave me some ideas how to use flat pieces other than as shelves.

Did you just stack or did you epoxy, peg or other fasteners?

Bet the tangs are loving the extra 2 feet in length!

I just stacked them, making sure everything was really solidly placed.

The tangs are very happy!! ;D

Hmmm... You just gave me an idea with those pics. The way you hung those lights might just work for me!

Great tank progress, btw!

Erna,

The tank looks great the aquascaping really turned out nice. I'm so glad everything turned ok for you and your family. I know I see alot of space in there now, hmmmmmmm sounds like a shopping trip is in the near future for you. We are setting up a 70 gallon oceanic tech tank tomorrow, lol. We decided to move everything out of the frag tank and the aquapod into the new tank. Gluttens for punishment. Good luck! I'll bring some frags for you when we come back to get the sohal tang.
