Jay's IM20 Peninsula Build

ok sorry i should have asked this earlier -but the desk can hold the weight? I mean most desks are meant to hold a monitor, pc or what not. But 20 gallons of saltwater = 170 pounds.

Well I can sit on the deck not make it flex. Its 5/4" solid wood top. It is a pretty substantial.. 3x5' It is an antique Drafting table. I did add 4 posts to the corners for additional support.

Well its been a while since Ive posted. As always Ive been busy with life and work. I did add a McCoskers Wrasse a few weeks ago. Yesterday added a Diamond goby. Came out today OK, a bit sandy now. Haha

Pretty set on corals for a while. All are growing good and have a few frags Im holding for my cousins tank.

Tank is looking great! How is the McCosker? Is it an aggressive fish? I am thinking of getting one along with a Midas blenny and pair of Yasha shrimp goby.

Looks great - good luck! I really liked your light setup. I've been struggling with the placement of my lights and cords also (I'm still running a freshwater current USA light). Cyano can kind of look a little like coraline algae so that may be what you have. Also you should start thinking about a quarantine process for your fish - unless you are just going to put them directly into your DT.

Well I went away April 4th and returned April 13th. April 4th the Diamond decided to jump through the screen top, how I don't know. He was bigger than the holes! Either way he cooked himself in a short time until he was seen that morning.

I had set everything up and did a normal 5G change before I left. I had mixed up 3.5G of water for my mom to do a tank change. Planned after 7 days to pull 1G a day then .5G to finish over 3 days total. All are alive! Actually tank looks the cleanest its ever been! Everything is healthy and growing. I think I still have Nudibranch egg left. I'm gonna dip those corals now in the flatworm exit stuff. Otherwise they will hit the bin. I don't see any actual nudibranchs but that one orange Zoa has the same nest looking stuff on it.

I do see that my sea lettuce is seeding into the display. Don't know if that's god or bad, used it because I see people get Cheato in the DT. O well.

I will soon need to plant my Duncan on the rock side. Currently on the frag just in the sand still. Hes 3 heads and one is splitting into 2 it looks and the big head is almost 2" across when opened.

Was really cool to look at the tank and see the growth on the corals in 9 days.

The McCoskers was an ass for a few days as you may remember but he has settled in and glad I kept him. A real pretty fish.

Some coral photo updates, some are entrusting the rock now.

Naa, dont think Ill be going bigger anytime soon. The location is part of the limit. 2nd floor. I enjoy being at my desk and seeing this all the time. A larger tank would be nice but then its in the kids playroom on the slab.

Matt, is only 5 mins away! We need to have our own meeting/viewing.

Slow going. I still need to get an order in for some parts. Heater and IM filter basket. Need to get sand too. I go away for 10 days in 2 weeks so Ill fill when Im back. I have worked out the light and bracket. Bought the ceiling mount but didnt like it and the cord was way too short to use it. So I came up with this. Also allows me a swing on the thread so I can move if I need to. Its 13" off the tank. Can go any lower and still have the power supply uder the table. AI should have a 16 ' cable!

Still need to get a wire track for the wall but the curtian will hide some too.

I also epoxied the branch on where I wanted it.

Love the creativity!

It has been some odd times lately but everything is still growing and thriving. The Green birdsnest Im going to need to trim back soon. Cant clean the glass there anymore without moving the rock. These red mushrooms are spreading and killing off my Favia, any thought of what to do?

Elsewhere my green mushroom became the host for my clown. Those are spreading a bit too.20200609_085314.jpg20200609_085334.jpg20200609_085355.jpg
