Reef Angel?

Has anyone here used one of these controllers before?

Reef Angel

It looks like it can do just about anything an Apex can, even more if you know anything about coding or the Arduino programming language.

The cost of this thing is cheap at $219 for the basic package, although it can add up if you get a few expansion modules. Like they have a Wifi attachment for $109 that would allow you to check status online anywhere, have it send you emails/texts/twitters/whatever to notify you of a problem. I was just looking for alternatives for a dimmer for a new LED system and came across it in my search. This looks like it could do that easily with the built in PWM modules... and so much more.

Anyway, would like some feedback from anyone who may have seen it in action.

I know a few people on DVRC who got them, and a few have changed to Apex or RK's. As I understand it they work well, but you really need to be good at coding.

Thanks Jim. I don't know anything about coding with Arduino, but I have some limited experience with programming and can learn it if I want/need to. Besides that, there is a forum over there that I'm currently viewing and it seems like just about any request for specific coding is provided by people who know the language.

I'm not real concerned about the coding part... I'm more concerned about the quality of the hardware and functionality of what it's capable of. For example, the basic system comes with 2 PWM connections with built in coding to control 2 channels for light dimming (actinics and daylight) and a separate moonlight controller. However, I would be looking to be able to control at least 3, possibly 4 channels (Blue, Royal Blue, Cool White, and Neutral White... I'd be ok with both whites on same channel though). In order for me to do that with the Reef Angel, I'd also have to buy the PWM expansion module. But that would give me an additional 6 channels... which would certainly do what I want. It just makes it a bit more expensive.
