I love fried chicken. Popeyes, Chick Fil A, KFC. I know it’s fast food but it’s hard to make fried chicken like that at home. But even better is the independents when you can find a good one. New place by me is really good - Papa Al’s chicken in Rockaway.

Tonight’s meal - Shrimp and Pork over cheese tortellini w/Reefers vodka sauce. What is Reefers vodka sauce you ask? It’s the vodka sauce you make with the vodka you stole from your doser after finding out the bottle in the liquor cabinet you thought was vodka turns out to be rum. Came out delicious and I think my no3 & po4 is lower.

I feed frozen foods and vary it daily:

Brine shrimp
Plankton
Angel/Butterfly mix
Seaweed/Emerald Entrée

Occasionally throw a sheet of Nori in using a magnet holder.

Does that fill you? I could not get by on that. Maybe if there was additional nori but I still think I'd be snacking.

Almost forgot about this. Took the wife for dinner at Rails steakhouse in Montville. It was a great experience.

So sad that I’ve lost my local German butcher. Schwinds Pork Store in Rockaway was an institution. Loved their kielbasa and brats. Everything was so good from there.
you should go out to wallington or garfield for some good kielbasa and pierogis slowly fading out but still alot of polaks there

I want to host a club meeting here. Might make me take the ride to get a bunch of stuff to cut up as hors d'oeuvres. Expect to be recruited as a guide.

St Patrick’s day so of course how could I not make Chinese food. Broke out the wok tonight. Gave the veggies a start; carrots, onions, celery, pea pods, broccoli, baby corn and bean sprouts. Then in went chicken, shrimp and loads of garlic and some stir fry sauce and oyster sauce. Roast pork dumplings on the side. Haven’t done this in a while and it was a big hit.

As long as you washed it down with a Guinness or two, you still should be OK.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!
