Hi
Normally, I'd say no, but in this case you might have a good shot if.....
1...it's really just a 3-4 degree reduction you want and you can live with a display temp of 78-79 degrees;
2...the area(s) where the tank and sump are located are air conditioned to have a stable temp of about 72...
C'mon Guys N' Gals THINK!!!!!!!!
Hundreds of $ for a Tank/Stand; Hundreds of $ for equipment; Hundreds of $ for ROCKS!!!; and Hundreds of $ for Improved Water 'cause what we drink ouselves is not good enough!!! In other words, thousand(s) of $ BEFORE we've even added any marine life. ::)

Hi Erna
I am constantly fighting these things and tried a Copperband not too long ago...It didn't work...The fish died without touching a single Aiptasia....It just wasted away....I don't know if it was a badly collected (cyanide caught) fish or something in my tank...It just never ate...

Phyl and John,
I like the open and spacious look of the new setup. Given how very nice the "old" setup looked, I commend your courage in
making the changeover. 8) Being both lazy and cowardly when it comes to tinkering with my tank (something ALWAYS goes wrong),
I'll wait a while before...
Enjoy the drink...or drinks?? You deserve it/them...
I remember cracking a glass sump some years ago by over-tightening a bulkhead fitting and subsequently cutting my hand when cleaning up the mess. :'( To say the least, I was not a happy camper. >:(
So again, salute!!

Hi Sam
Beautiful open look to the tank that will explode with color and great shapes as your frags grow out...
This will compliment your fine selection of healthy, colorful fish...That Orange Shoulder Tank is as good looking a fish as I have ever seen... SW or FW!!!!!
Nice Job!!!
Dom
Great Job Jose!!!!!
Carpentry on the cabinet and canopy is outstanding. Along with the aquascaping inside rhe tank, the whole display looks
terrific. Also admire the nice, straightfoward plumbing job.
Thanks for sharing and Good Luck.

The answer depends on whether the DSB is to be the MAIN method of filtration.....If yes, then you'll need 4-6" (probably closer to 6") of very fine, oolitic sized sand. Carib Sea has it, but I'm not sure if they have 40lb. bags.
If the DSB is NOT to be the main filter, ie you have lots of...
Hi Tom
I've always used Eheim canister filters in the past mostly on my FW tanks. They are very quiet and reliable. They more than do the job. Just note that they tend to cost more than other brands with the same features.
They now have several lines of canisters ranging from very basic...
Hi John
Any idea what went wrong with thw Aqualifter??? Is it dead altogether?? I haven't set my reactor up yet as I decided to go with sulphur beads (from current PA Group Buy) instead of the Carib Sea ARM sulphur I bought which looks more likely to clog over time. (Thanks Carlo)
If you'll...

We are nuts!!!!
I remember taking my Dad with me some 30+ years ago when I was looking to landscape my Tanganyikan Cichlid tank. I bought
some colorful large pieces of slate to build the caves required by these fish. When it came time to pay the bill, it totalled over...
Re: Here's my 120
Hi Bax...Latest photos are great. I especially like the large purple piece (Stag?) in picture 3...Also, in the last pic, what are the 2 corals to the left and below the big purple coral?

Hi Billy...
Nice Tank...Enjoyed following the thread...Thanks for sharing...Glad you've overcome your algae problem.
What is the name of that Red/Burgundy Blenny with the Green spots...it's cool looking!!
Also, the latest pictures appear to show some Bubble Algae (Valonia) on a few of the...
