I was looking for a shotgun water supplement (for ease of maintenance schedulin) and came across this posthttp://www.3reef.com/forums/product-review-archives/seachem-reef-complete-31925.html.
The guy seems to be a SeaChem evangelist. Did anyone ever try the combination ? The other similar...
There seems to be a lot of talk about the Koralia 2 making clicking sounds with the RedSea wavemaker.
I have a 40G with 2 koralia 2 (1200 Gph on paper) and a Koralia 1 stand by (used for salt water mixing).
1. Is it a good idea for me to incorporate the wavemaker?
2. Is there a mod to the...
Cool fish, very well taken video looked like HD ?
SirFragalot,
It might fail if you are using Firefox as browser. Try IE, or if that is not an option, install the IE tab option in Firefox and install FlashPlayer 10.
On a related topic, how much difference does it make in growth if you chose a 6500K bulb vs 10000K vs 12000K bulb? I had read that growth decreases but color/fluorescence improves if you go up the kelvin rating. Also perhaps bulb life somewhat decreases as you go for higher Kelvin MH.
If I...
I have a bag of Fluval Carbon in my fuge and also a bag of PURA Phos-Lock. I just dumped 50 gallon worth of Dr Tim's one and only in my tank, which seems to have stemmed the rot somewhat. Preparing 5 more gallons of salt water for a water change tonight. I have already done two seperate batches...
Did you ever consider the zero edge light tree ? I dont want to drill holes on the roof of my apartment. or want the 40 odd lb light fixture to come crashing on my tank ;D.
My moseleya just picked up a bunch of stuff from the water column and is looks awesome when it feeds. Preparing food is off for this weekend. My tank is in dreadful shape got to fix that first.
Thanks for the offer paul. There was a leak in my skimmer which might have caused the grief as well.
Could we try this? I am trying to seal the leak today with silicone. Once that's done I can get it to your place and we could try the experiment over a pail of water. Tap water should conduct...
I am changing the pump but it would take a couple of days to get shipped from Coral Vue. And the pump and skimmer are both under warranty. I literally got my skimmer 2 days back >:(
Ammonia spikes could also cause corals to give out organics, which I really want to avoid.
Could I run Carbon...
Dont have a volt meter will get from home depot today, but I think the circuit is getting completed since I have a metal tank stand. Needless to say that the skimmer is off for now. What if I have the probe in the skimmer though. Shouldnt that complete the circuit before water comes in my tank...
Why do say, it would save my life more than critters?
Some of my hermits seems to have died and this has caused an ammonia spike as well. I am preparing fresh salt water as we speak. But is there something I can do in the meanwhile to reduce ammonia in the meanwhile.
Has anyone ever tried...
I think there was as post somewhere saying ground probe is not a good idea. Any idea. I have kept my skimmer off for the time being. No problem with any other tank equipment. Powerhead, light fixture, fuge pump. Just the skimmer.
Can skimmer pumps do this in course of normal behaviour? Do I...
Has anyone tried this formula .. I think I would try this out. I dont cook as it is .. the blender would be put to good use .... Saturday project !!!!

Cool .. I had read somewhere that urchins in a display tank could be a bad idea since they disrupt rock work and corals within their reach once they grow big. Let me know once you are done Jon. Will stop by to take a look.
So how do people with open tanks maintain fishes? I do not have the option of building a canopy.
Looks like green chromis are the best bet but they will get aggressive while breeding and the weakest one is picked on. There seems to be this interesting theory about them preferring an odd number...
