Sandee, the tiny, tiny curly things are Spirorbid worms, completely harmless. I've got those AND the Scypha sponges in my overflows as well. :)

I never even knew or heard about the jynx about keeping your hands out of the tank. :o I must make a quick mental note on that one. Gees, Bill, I'm so sorry about that domino-effect that happened to you. And you remained calm and cool the entire time? I know had it been me, my...
Phil, thank you so much. I feel quite flattered and honored.
Bill, I can't wait to see updated pics of your tank, either. I still want to stop by sometime and see if for myself. ;)
James, yes, there are some fish that are believed to eat those suckers, and I've got some of them (yellow coris...
Well, I'm not super close, but if you want to bring me some sample water, I'd be happy to test it for you.
I don't know if you know Repoman (Dan), but he's planning on stopping by this Sunday. If you know him, you could drop the water off with him. He lives in Toms River, I believe.
Where is your Calcium, dKh, and pH?
If you have a decent load of fish, their "poop" should be feeding your corals quite nicely. Oh, and what type of corals are you growing? SPS, LPS, softies, zoos?
Rafal, the test kits he mentioned ARE the basic ones, with the exception of copper perhaps. If he's starting a tank, all the ones he's mentioned are quite important and should definitely be tested more often than once a month.
Also, the "guessing" game seems to have worked fine for me for the...
Bill, I'm thrilled you "resurrected" your thread, and will try and be patient until you tell the "classic equipment related reef chain reaction tale". ;)
Richie, thank you for your encouragement.
I just finished my weekly water change. Since I "accidentally" changed 30 gallons last week (I...
Bill,
I'm so sorry to hear about your battle with ich. I'm having another outbreak of it as I'm typing, but only a handful of fish are mildly affected this time. I, too, lost my neon gobies after the last battle with it. 2 ended up in the overflow and disappeared from there, and the last one...
Thank you so much for the kind words and encouragement, jerzky, Phil & Bill. :)
As close as I was to throwing the towel (and a breakdown), my corals (Acroporas) made me change my mind. I had grown them from small, tiny, little babies. They had rewarded me with growth and beauty. Due to MY...
LOL @ Gene. Believe me, things are far from "right".
Obi, mnat and CoralGarden, THANK YOU very much.
I haven't shown my face much lately, and there's more than one reason behind that. A couple of months ago someone pointed something out to me (which was confirmed 2 minutes later), that made...
