i wouldn't worry about algae if your water quality is good. if you don't have algae problems now, you shouldn't have any algae take off in your tank. i'd just remove the visible algae. i would not let any hitch hiker deter me from a good deal.

well, i purchased this camera on a whim. it's water proof to 30 feet, and i was having trouble getting decent pics from the waters surface, especially shooting the lps which is amost always on the sand bed (25" away from the camera), so i figured a submersible camera might be just the trick...
many macros are nice looking. i'm not knocking them...i'm just stating the downsides.
btw- halimeda and shaving brush both use calcium if i'm not mistaken. IMO, anything that competes with the corals has got to go!
the reason chaeto is used in the refugium and not other macros is that it does the best job without releasing toxins during reproductive events.
those red macros aren't nearly as effective.
i would not put any macros in the display that utilize anchoring "roots". you'll be hard pressed to...
