Pics of some inhabitants (I had to auto-adjust them in CS because of the 20K radiums, I haven't WB'ed the camera yet)
These corals are from my other tank, all frags of pieces I've had for years. Nothing beats tank raised- cultivate your own, save a reef! Tank raised frags are better suited to...
here's an updated FTS~
The water is chock full of nutrients because there is an algae film on the glass every 6 hours or so! It made taking pics of the fish/corals very hard since the water isn't gin-clear!
pics this weekend, i've been meaning to take pics but the tank walls have been green/brown the past 2 weeks, the magnet cleaner just arrived yesterday :D
Yes Jim, a mini cycle-
I call it a "mini cycle" because last week, I went and drained about 35 gallons out my old tank and placed it in a brute container. It would have gone down the drain since it was gonna be a standard-practice water change.
I decided to load it up into my truck and lugged...
Sorry to hear that sid, I see you were up late! You can try and use a vial of that prodibio stuff too, I've used them in emergencies as a preventatives when I had something similar occur- (pump stopped working, power strip tripped)
Nothing beats a 50% water change though
Here's a prominent one that will forever stick with me:
I decide to make some RO water for a mini water change. I place the tubing in a 5 gallon bucket and turn on the TV in the bedroom. It was a hot summer day and the cold AC air was just amazing blasting my skin. . .
I fell asleep.
My...
Hey chuck- it will depend primarily on your calcium needs as previously mentioned. A good rule of thumb is what's initially rated for your tank because water changes will also help add used up calcium in your tank. As your sps grow, you'll notice that they may hit a plateau in growth. Increase...
the darker mottled substrate will make it harder to see any detritus build up, regular pure white sand will eventually dull out and become off white soon enough
depends. Here's a mixed review (I currently have both)
Lots of water movement will initially move sand around, but keep particulates suspended longer; they will also collect in a spot where they can be vacuumed out easily. Very high water movement- SPS. Slower water movement- Everything else...
Nikki- who talked to you about that? That doesn't seem like something that both my buds working in there would do?!?!? Could you let me know? Maybe they hired someone recently- or it may be one of the two hmmmmm.....
who you Pm'ing bill? :D
everyone's recommended a Mag which I've used before (Mag 5 on a 75). But I'm gonna go out on a limb and also recommend the Eheim pumps, they run cooler than the mags and are pretty quiet. Cost is a drawback though.
ah, but yes you can, even three.
but it takes patience grasshopper, patience... sorry to see you go, but have fun with the CT9A, the beast that it should be
Hey Dave, what's the format of the picture? If it's a jpeg, you can simply resize using Microsoft
paint, Photoshop, or any photo program etc. With the new smaller size, you should be able
to print just fine-
If your picture is in raw, you'll need to convert it to jpeg- raw pics when printed...
Rant start:
So after making a bunch of splashes and bobbing my head between tanks, someone finally approaches us and I ask to weigh the liverock on the scale. The scale had some water in it and he proceeded to lift it up and tared the scale. Then he weighed the whole thing...... Ummm fail. I...
Seriously, no one has approached us yet..... They're more interested in talking to each other. . . . I came to get some live rock to seed the tank!!!! Help!!
