Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
So in my quest to find more info about these little buggers, I ran across this article from Eric Borneman in Reefkeeping.

Pics included.....
Unfortunately it looks like these little guys can survive quite sometime without a host. Also it...
I am sure there are a few hiding on the Orange Cap. I'll wait a few days, dip and shake them off. I'll get pics then. They are unmistakable once they are off. But nearly impossible to see on the corals without getting up close and personal.
Everything was dipped and qt'd for 8+ weeks prior to being put in DT. The acros and monti's have been in DT for months. about 4 months. All were growing great too. For the life of me I cant figure out how they would have gotten in there.
The only thing I put in my tank that wasn't qt'd was a...
Well when I pulled out the slimer etal I found the nudi's on all of them. I have inspected pretty closely. The only thing I can find are these nudi's. No redbugs or flatworms. So out it all comes and fallow the tank. I'll see what I can save and put it all in my qt.
Note: the slimer was covered...
Apparently there are, so time for another recon mission. Went away on vacation for ten days. When I returned the two birdsnests were beyond saving as well as a Green Slimer and a blue tip monti. I have a orange cap monti that is just showing some white spots. So tonite I may dip it and see what...
I ran a 1 in. pvc line to the outside and have the air intake to my skimmer connected to it via hose. I added and GAC container to the outside of the line. Just a 2in. pipe with a cap thats drilled. This solved my chronic low Ph. Has been holding steady at 8.2 since.
Sure, you can even add stand pipes to it and put the fuge lower than the sump. Drain tank to sump, sump drains to fuge, then return pump from fuge up to tank.
I would drain both lines into the sump/skim and let that overflow into the fuge then pump from there up the returns. Make sure there is enough excess volume to the fuge to prevent overflow when return pump is shut off.
Small snap traps with peanut butter. Gets em every time. The problem with poison is they can croak in places you cant get to but the smell can get to you.
Those findings will only pertain to non-pressure rated centrifugal pumps.
Also if you remove any plumbing on the output and test the wattage, you'll probably see close to the rating. Any additional plumbing is a restriction. Hence slowing the flow. Allowing the pump to work less, because its...
