I have been planning this tank for a while now, and I've finally have got the chance to start it. I have been gathering equipment that I plan on using for that tank.
So far I have:
AGA 33long for display
AGA 30 for a refugium
Glass-holes.com 700gph overflow kit
Vortec mp20
TLF 150 phos...
I noticed you said you were drilling two returns. The one at the top will be fine, but you need to remember in the event of a power outage the tank will drain into your sump from your returns. So I wouldnt drill your returns in the middle or on the bottom.
Look into doing a closed loop if you...
Over the past few months i have been planning to do a 33L. It will be a display tank that will take the place of my biocube. I iwll be turning the biocube into a frag tank. I plan on keeping mostly zoos, rics, a few clams and gobies.
I plan on drilling the tank for a closed loop, and making...
In my 29 Biocube I have two Koralia 1's and a MJ1200 return pump. I think two #1's give me more then enough flow for what I am keeping in a 29.
I've seen some 55g reefs where people are running two Koralia 3's.
I agree with panmanmatt, I'de go with two nanos or two #1's or one of both...
Yea he is pretty agressive. I saw him at the LFS and they said they dont get them in stock alot so I didnt want to pass up the chance. I probably will regret getting him since I want to put some other fish in the tank that aren't agressive, but we will see.
I want to get more zoos and rics. If I can find any SPS for cheap I might try some of that too. Im on a college budget so I cant be buying expensive frags just yet.
The rics are not opened all the way, and im not to great with my camera yet.
Thanks, hes been through alot. Before I got my Biocube I had a 55g. It started leaking and he spent a few days in a cooler with no lighting. After that I put him in the Biocube and he survived a week under the stock BC lighting. Since i got the Sunpod he's been super happy, and he has started...
Took some pics of some stuff I got over the weekend at the fish store. These are the first pics I've posted since I got my 150w Sunpod.
For my Biocube reef I got:
Pygmy Angelfish
Cleaner Shrimp
Algae Blenny
Green Fl. Ric
Blue/Orange Ric
Here are some polyps Sinkingbeach gave me when I...
I live down the street from Stockton College, they offer a marine biology degree there, and from what I've heard its pretty good. My uncle graduated from with a degree in marine biology, but when he was in school I dont think their was even such a thing as an online degree. I can ask a few of my...
My U-tube used to do the same thing. I drilled a hole at the exact top of the U-tube and superglue a airline flow controle valve in the hole and attached some tubing to it. I usually just let it hang behind the tank and whenever I saw a air bubble form in the tube I would shut off the return...
Do you have any extra Egg-crate laying around? I have a great design for one. I will get a pic of it for you. If you dont have and egg crate I have a few scraps you can have or maybe I'll give you one I have made up if you want to drive to Atlantic City to pick it up. I used to use them when I...
I got a longnose hawlk from a guy who had him for 2 years, and I've had him for about 5 months now. It is the biggest longnose I've ever seen other then the one in the cylinder FOWLER tank at the Camden Aquarium.
Im a noob and I waswondering how these coral reproduce. Do they split like a mushroom?? My open brain looked like it has two "mouths" kind of like a shroom and it looks like it might be splittling, it may be the angle im looking at it, i donno. I am just curious to what is goin on.
