Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Here's a couple more shots:

I checked their website but I still could not determine if there is anything missing from the diagram. I tried calling MRC but he is gone for the day.
Thanks,

I bought this from someone on reefecentral. Since I'm not familiar with Nilsen Reactors I'm not sure if this is complete or is missing parts. I don't see a "stirrer" referred to in the directions. I was expecting to see a rotating bar of some sort but I don't see one. I'm kinda stressing that I...
As a fellow reefer who left the hobby and got sucked back in again, here's what I would do. I would return the lights and buy a 30" dual 65w power compact fixture. That seems to be the most common fixture for a tank this size. Here's why. If you are like most of us here, and judging from what...
mladencovic makes 2 good points. I know people bash the Coralife skimmer but I just bought a complete setup and they were using a Coralife skimmer. I was amazed by the skimmate it produced because I have only heard mostly negative things about them. Luckily you didn't spend a lot for it so if...
I like the new aquascaping better. It looks like you have more room to play with as you add corals that come attached to larger pieces of rock. Plus I like being able to have the fish swim through the reef (i.e my 6 line wrasse) which they can do in version 2.

Welcome! Personally I would rely more on water changes and less on chemicals to maintain water quality. With your bioload I would definitely be doing water changes weekly. I can't believe I am going to say this, but I'd have to agree with your lfs. I would just make sure you change out the...
Necessity The Mother of Invention! So far this one peppermint shrimp appears obsessed with aiptasia, but it's great knowing there's more than one way to rid a tank of these eyesores.
Eric
Hi Steve, Sorry to hear about the problems you are experiencing. Right now I am battling flatworms ( I think I'm seeing less) and aiptasia. For those who are battling aiptasia on a smaller scale, I can confirm the power of peppermint shrimp. Just as I was sitting here I looked over at my minibow...
For some reason I've never seen this algae(?) before- not in any of my tanks or any message boards. Should I be happy that it is growing on the very bottom of my reef or is it the type of algae that reduces grown reefers to tears?
Thanks!
Eric
blange3: Ahhhh so you have the Remora and original minibow :) I forgot both were involved in the sell off. For some reason I remember more the big ticket items. Hmmmmm...2 minibows......
twan: I did a water change last night and to put my nitrates where my mouth is I tested the water and I had...
I personally keep a copy of: Marine Fishes: 500+ Essential-To-Know Aquarium Species by Scott W. Michael in my glove compartment to prevent me from making dumb purchases.

Thanks! The worst part about staring at this tank for a month was watching the water level get lower and lower every week. Each week I could tell the fish were getting more and more stressed by the increased salinity. The green chromis went from swimming back and forth across the top of the tank...
I never imagined I would be reading saltwater forums ever again after I sold everything off a couple of years ago. I was looking forward to actually having a savings account. Back in March I was having back pain and wound up going to physical therapy for the first time in my life. It was kind of...
