Target feeding will definitely increase the growth rate of the coral. However, it can also pollute the tank. As it establishes more and more, it'll be okay to do small spot feedings. Unless the coral is Non Photosynthetic, feedings aren't really needed.
Only problem is they are about 2 hours away (Maybe a little less as long as traffic isn't horrible.) If anyone is willing/able to pick some up, I'd gladly pay them back for it, as well as gas and tolls!
I desperately need a cup of rotifers. Our culture crashed, and we have multiple batches of clownfish eggs on the way. If you can spare a cup, I'd really appreciate! I don't mind coming to get it!!!!

You can always grab a cheap monti frag from mike for 5-10$ to try out SPS. And don't forget to clean your canister filter out every so often. It'll start to trap nitrates inside of it if you don't. What kind of lighting are you running on the tank again? Cause I have some brown palys that spread...

Glad to hear things are going well for you! If you ever need any help, I'm about 10 mins away from Parsipanny, and would be more then willing to give you a hand. I'm not as knowledgeable as Mike, but I've been tapping into his fountain of info for over a year now. Also, those clownfish he sold...
Hi Maple, my name is Anthony. If you're visiting Mike in Parsipanny, I'm sure you'll run into me at some point. I'm the one who services (maintains) his tanks for him. As far as the live rock goes, it was definitely cured for at least 4-6 weeks before even being added to his 1800 total gallon...
Yeah, I had a lone misbar clown that I tried to put with my other misbars. It got beat up pretty badly. Since it was roughly 2", I figured it'd be fine inside the tank with the eel since it couldn't "easily" fit it in it's mouth. Within 5 seconds, the clownfish was in two pieces. So yeah, small...
